Autumn at Ashburnham: Day off

Wednesday 10th September 2008
Beachy Head and Hastings, East Sussex

Our leader Dave organised a day out as a rest from our work. We visited a cider farm, Beachy Head and Hastings. The cider farm also stocked perry, which was enjoyed next weekend at the 'Proms in the Park'. The Long Man and white horse carved into the chalk hillside were probably nothing to do with the drink. After lunch and an amble on Beachy Head we went to Hastings. Tea at the top of the funicular railway and and a wander around the shops and galleries in the afternoon sunshine meant we were ready for a return to the Black Horse (of attic skittles fame) for dinner and the quiz night in Battle. Our teams made a reasonable showing in the quiz (well done Stephen!).
